
On the occasion of the World Theranostics Day on March 31, 2026, over 230 guests participated in this awareness day.
Dr. Patricia Bautista-Peñalosa, Nuclear Medicine Chief Resident at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Manila, Philippines, and her dedicated team were leading this milestone initiative setting a strong example for future Theranostics Days. This awareness day brought together a truly multidisciplinary audience of physicians, nurses, technologists, government officials, patients and their families, medical students, and other interested individuals.
The following official representatives were welcomed by Dr. Patricia Bautista-Peñalosa: Atty. Chel Diokno, Representatives of of Akbayan Partylist; Kathryn Fermin-Gorriceta, Representative of Iloilo´s 2nd District; Anna Bondoc-Sagum, Representative of Pampanga's 4th Congressional District and Noel Luistro, Mayor municipality of Mabini, province of Batangas, Philippines.
This successful first edition marks an important step in the ICPO Centers support strategy to increase visibility, foster collaboration, and expand access to Theranostics for cancer patients worldwide.
During the Theranostics Day multidisciplinary insights and patient voices anchored in local cancer care reality have been presented from specialists in Nuclear Medicine, Medical Oncology, Urology, Surgery, Radiation Oncology, and Pathology – as well as from patients and key public officials.
