Lalith Kumar Shiyam Sundar

Prof. Lalith Kumar Shiyam Sundar heads the digit-x Lab at the Department of Radiology, LMU Munich. A biomedical engineer by training, his work sits at the intersection of nuclear medicine, oncology, and artificial intelligence, with a focus on making multimodal imaging data computable at scale.

He is the developer of several widely adopted open-source frameworks for PET/CT analysis, including MOOSE (whole-body CT segmentation), LION (PET lesion segmentation), FALCON (motion correction), and PUMA (multi-tracer PET/CT multiplexing), which are used by research groups and theranostics centers worldwide.
His current research focuses on temporal modeling of disease trajectories and building AI infrastructure that turns unstructured clinical imaging data into structured evidence for precision oncology.
